two hours seems awful long - all my beginner students i wouldn't go much further past the hour, when your fingers are learning new shapes and what not playing for two hours would probably give you cramps and put you off playing till the next lesson. two hours spread over seven days is way more effective.

do it by yourself, dont mind getting lessons, plenty of help online. good luck ..

I would say get a few lessons before going it alone. Just to get the basics down. Learn some scale and picking exercises. They can a bit boring but they'll improve you technique and dexterity much quicker that just learning songs.

Stick at it Jim - once your fingers callous up and you learn a couple of chord changes it gets much easier and it's something you'll have with you for the rest of your life.
