Land Lovers album out on 30th Sept! (1 Viewer)

Time hasn't been kind to that photo either. Where's Shane?

tell him to get used to it. i joined to Corpo in 2003, and people still routinely use pics with Pip and HP in 'em. It's becuase me and Shane are a) the young virile ones in our bands and b) we're handsome bass players.

I didn't finish the first paragraph of the review because, upon skimming it, it seemed to be full of terrible made up sociological observations and I hate sociology.

The rest of it though, pretty good review by Ian there (Stuart fucking Murdoch aside). I'd be inclined to agree although I wouldn't be as harsh as he is. It's a good album. It's in a certain style. Any emotional response isn't dulled by this.

Supposed innovation and 'originality' are, IMHO, false goals and always fall apart upon examination. It's all just a black hole of everyone ripping everyone else off and is all the better for it.

You guys need to stop getting so outraged when someone doesn't like your mates band.

haven't read much outrage in these page, only encouraging words from, yeah, pals and peers who do think the album is great. i take your point about the back slapping, but who the fuck wants to read "yeah, you're a sound lad and all, but your album's shit"?

True, true.

Although if I ever release an album and it's shit please tell me. And tell me why as well.

it's from the same photoshoot as their twitter page background image, like

Bad review or bad review?

I didn't complain that he said it was bad, what annoys me is when writers throw complete nonsense around with such confidence. He dimisses the album on the basis that the "musical quotation" discounts it. He's wrong. It's a different melody. He also presumes the bands mentioned are ones the singer likes/loves. Therefore the whole review is a big load of nothing, backed up by some "clever" references. Nothing personal against Ian. Ian is cool.

I'm sick of going to gigs that are talked about here before and after the thing but never knowing ANYONE at it. If you see me at this tonight say hello.
