French band La Fraction who some of you will know from their excellant performances at Ladyfest and the Liege festival are touring Ireland with The Steam Pig at the start of February.

La Fraction play awesome 77 style punk with deadly female vocals, the Steam Pig play a complex form of punk which these days is so varied as to defy description but is quality and they are set to relase their 4th album shortly.

They will both be playing at the following venues....


Thursday FebruaryThird 8.30 or so
Galway, Eyre Square, Richardsons
and local support

Friday February 4th 8.30 or so
Front Page Belfast
and local support

Saturday February 5th 8.00
The Voodoo Lounge Dublin

All Ages gig - bar open for over 18's
with 20 Bulls Each and Verbal Discretion

Unfortunately they are very un web friendly but I can do you a tape of some stuff napalm - pm me an address and i will sort it out.

JML - there was an offer of a cork gig from patrice but by the time it came i already had the days and flights they were coming on sorted etc - next time maybe.

Review of their last album

LA FRACTION Aussie Long Sera Le Chemin cassette [Trujaca Fala (Poland)]
The title translates into: "However Long it Takes". This is their 2nd Lp and it was really worth the wait. Raging straightforward fast and melodic punk with some of the best female vocals I came across!! The style of singing reminds me a lot of this typical French "chanson-style" singing, if you don't know what I mean, get this and find out. Nothing really changed, but the production is more powerful than on their last already outstanding release. Comes in a nice full-colored sleeve with a full colored booklet - lyrics are translated in English for those who are not familiar with French. Essential Lp! (Kleister)
