japanese boat - whale......

first thing that comes to mind is they were trying to kill it but i know that's not the case here.

does seem their approach was kinda stoopid though
i mean the whale had already over turned one boat

it IS kind of ironic though - given that most encounters between whales and japanese fishing vessels is that the whale ends up dead.

it's also ironic that this has happened within two weeks of the last international whaling conference - where i believe japan asked for their quota to be raised

You look at the size of those animals, and their strength, and their ability to hurt humans, and you correlate that with the number of humans they have actually hurt/killed.

I would say prairie dogs have a higher body count than whales. Golden retrievers would have a couple of orders of magnitude more deaths resulting from them.

And, there are a fair number of people who dedicate their lives to killing and making these animals lives a total misery.
I dunno.
Realistically, its pretty amazing that they dont kill more people. They must be unbelievably aware of the space around them, cause as far as it goes, if they touch you, you die.

Its like and ant playing with a sledgehammer.
