kevin myers goes to the indo (2 Viewers)

I'm sure this has been put up here before, but Myers has also tried his hand at writing a novel. Called Banks Of Green Willow, here are some quotes:

"In delicate detail he soaped her vulva and that secret place between her buttocks."

"His erection was full, pulsing to the rhythm of his heart. She was greatly tempted to masturbate him there and then, to have him ejaculate over her face, her breasts, in his bath."

"His penis on her buttocks went bone hard. She reached behind and squeezed his testicles."

As for The Irish Times being the 'paper of record' says more about the state of newspapers in ireland than anything else. Myers is only slightly more of a prick than O'toole and Browne and all the other 'opinion' writers.

I do like Lara Marlowe (although her recent comments praising The Clash of Civilisations were depressing to say the least).

that novel sounds fucking amazing. Somewhat reminiscent of AA Gill's "Sap Rising" though perhaps less tongue-in-cheek and more...shit

Havent seen that, but given the ammount of time shes spent knocking arround various hot (ande cold spots) in the middle east at least her oppinion would be somewhat informed by experience. Unlike say, oh, Myers?

For sure, I've always found her reporting insightful, and seemingly informed by at least a certain knowledge of the various cultures, languages, etc, but to take the flag of Hutchinson, with all his generalisations is just really disapointing. Next she'll be championing bernard lewis. Egads!

I vaguely remember reading her mentioning the Clash of Civilisations but I don't think she was praising it or necessarily subscribing to its ideas. To be fair to Myers he has put in his time as a foreign correspondent as well. Still a prick though.
