I thought every single I've heard off them in the last few years was lifted off one Queen song or another. Too much so to be a coincidence. But I seemed to be the only one who noticed, until now. Maybe since they're such prog masters, that was their plan all along.

Not gonna lie lads, MDR's book is class but he couldn't disguise this sneery tone appearing now and then in it.

Anyway, Muse still have a few decent tracks/riffs. Muscle Museum is still a cool riff, Uno is a good groove, most of their second album is listenable and the world needed that kind of guitar riffing in the charts at the time, i'm never gonna go and seek out a new muse album or anything but for a brief moment they were refreshing.

I've now been listening to them on the drive to work since this thread bounced back.

Origin of Symmetry is a good fun album, has the same issue as most of that era in being 15 mins too long - a 40 min version would have been bullet proof.

From then on it's 2-4 good singles on each album.

I like the riffs and bombast stuff, plug in baby and new born are great singles.

I'll probably listen to 2/3rds of origin of symmetry again this evening.

I avoided this thread because I'd no skin in the game. However I listened to an album called The Resistance earlier. Didn't dislike all of it. Liked a fair amount of it.
