Yeah, thats the whole point. We (as people, not an organisation) have a wide range of musical preferences. Me, especially. My collection includes all sorts of weird shit (compared to what Joe Punter thinks is normal). It also contains all sorts of Pop shit, and one hit wonders and occasional one-hit classics such as "Eve Of Destruction" or "whiter shade of pale".

this is why we don't have any genre selection in dealing with Artists on IrishUnsigned, although it would make things easier...

We want to see a fair representation in the charts etc of what Irish people buy and listen to. Our point, in essence, is this:

It takes sometimes less than 200 sales to crack the top 40. Many bands (indie, unsigned, DIY, whatever) will regularly sell that many CD's but in the wrong places. we are *this close* to making the "wrong places" a thing of the past. we don't necessarily want to see the chartts full of non-Pop as that would also be unrepresentative. We jsut want to see fair play. Since we can't get it (bands, I mean) we have to bend the system a little bit to make it a *bit* fairer.

was a jam fan in the early eighties (who wasent) got the firt couple of council singles... the lodgers in particular was deadly...

but his stuff since then sux ass... wild wood and stanley road make me sick ...
