I'm sitting here, eating a ryvita with cheddar cheese, olives and Filligans wholegrain mustard.

"Filligans Mustard"? you say

Yes. Filligans. It's a beautiful Donegal mustard that I bought in Listons up on camden street, chumleys.

Listons on camden street is a wonderful shop. It's small, specialised and independent. They often have samples of their wares out for you to try (cheeses, breads and condiments mostly. good snack if you're starvin on the way home). They sell lots of Irish products too.

They stock so many wonderful tasty things and do really good take away lunches too.

Share the knowledge mes amies.

we have a dearth of really nice donnybrook fair type epicurean delight style food shops here, which is sad. BUT there's this deadly new eh..********..supermarket open in Smithfield called Fresh and it's crammed full of 45 million types of vinaigrette, pastas, delicious condiment type things and a lovely fresh fish counter, amazing cheeses, fancy gourmet tings and all manner of lovely things. I now spend a lot of money in there.

obviously not! well, I'll just type it like our country cousints pronounce it - BOWteeke.

i live just round the corner from morton's in ranelagh. i am a fan.

They pissed me off one day when the checkout woman asked us how our weekend was on a monday morning. I'm not sure why but it was really annoying.

Great shop though!

Has anyone seen that shop on Exchequer Street just down from the central hotel? It's a bit fruit and veg market where nothing is prepackaged and they have loads of amazing deli stuff aswell.
Also, the farmers market in Ranelagh- is it any good?

Been meaning to get over to that place in Smithfield. I'm excited.

Sheridans Cheese shops mmmmm
There a few of them, one off Grafton St, and one behind Pembroke Road. They have stalls at some of the farmers markets too.

And Magills is great for spices and herbs and the most amazing Hicks Cajun sausages ( yum barbequed ) .

i'm also a fan of the hopsack in rathmines for sesame sticks and tofu with funny things done to it. god i haven't had tofu with funny things done to it in ages.

They plan on expanding that Fresh concept to IFSC, South Docks and possibly Malahide. Great news!

I quite like Blazing Salads in Drury Street and downstairs in Avoca on Suffolk Street. Farmers Markets are the best though. Was at Farmleigh on Sunday and ate freshly baked almond & raspberry tart under a Magnolia tree. Very nice! Also bought a load of lovely bread, cheese and pesto (walnut & Coriander). Can't go wrong :)

wheres the farmers market in ranelagh? Saturdays or Sundays or wha?

The one I went to was on a Sunday in a school (the multidenominational one?) I shall ask my sibling, as it's her local market.
