The Anti war movements are growing in strength.
We have the release of a report from amnesty international which criticises the us for torture and using language to play down the fact that it is engaging in these practices. Amnesty Says
"The USA disregards basic human rights and international legal obligations in its "war on terror".
Serious violations are the inevitable result. Not a single detainee held in Guantánamo Bay has had
the lawfulness of his detention judicially reviewed. The conditions remain in place for torture and ill-treatment in the US Naval Base and beyond."
The anti war movement's were right to apose the war at its start and we are write to apose it now.
We have opportunities over the next while to show our opposition to the war. The main event that is Cumming up in the next while is the g8 summit in Scotland. The British government has already spent 100 million pounds sterling on security, to try and prevent people expressing their legitimate right to protest.
The Irish anti war movement is supporting Mobilize Ireland which is organizing the transport from the republic to Scotland.
