getting video of stuff that's not on youtube (1 Viewer)

if i was looking for footage from tv news from, say, twenty years ago, but it's not on youtube, where can i get it? do i have to be on some fancy private torrent site or the like? any recommendations?

i'm looking for footage of the explosion of the tsar bomba in 1961. in hd. and footage of the lowering of the last soviet flag in the kremlin in december 1991. in hd. i also want footage from a few other things (to be decided) in the 80s and 90s.

1961, most likely shot on 16mm for non studio shoot, archived (if at all) on NuMatic tape, at a guess.
1991, most likely shot on beta, archived on same more than likely.

RTE has a large archive of a lot of that kind of stuff, but you have to book in advance, pay by the hour to do your research & pay a hefty sum for anything you want played out onto tape (normally digibeta which is an SD format) eh, mister

i was hoping i could get some of this stuff online: is there anywhere i can go for historic news footage video and/or torrents, similar to how karagarga and the like are good for arthouse film torrents?
