at the time of the european elections,i thought that Tomás Sharkey (who was one of sf's two candidates in the east constituency) was being groomed for the sinn fein candidacy for louth at the next general election.

maybe sinn fein felt that with belfast west westminster seat was a safe one no matter who they put forward but without morgan, louth could be lost
