gay ipod (1 Viewer)

eh, my ipod has decided to be an asshole and is freezing up when some songs are played and i can hear a clicking noise coming from the drive. has anyone had this problem before and could point me in the right direction as to getting it sorted? the support section on the apple site is sound and by sound i mean bollox.

clicking noise is bad sadly. if you haven't got all your music backed up from it i would do it as soon as possible.
clicking noise usually means hard drive is dying and about to crash.

back everything up off it, and then format it maybe. good luck

what generation ipod is it? sadly dudley is probably right. my old ibook start click one day and clicked my data all the way to the perminant data storage facility in the sky. if your hard drive won't mount, your buggered.

Fraid so old bean...Clicking is ( normally ) the spindle thingy catching on the platter.

what would happened for it to go tits up. i've had it bout 15 months and has always worked bang on.

Mine went tits up as you say....had it aaages(it was a 3rd gen 15 GB).....dropped it loads so i'd say that was it....it just stopped charging one day and then the next it refused to work anymore.

Needless to say everything on it that wasn't on my computer is gone.I got a new one the other day...collecting begins again.

I take it you tried to reset it.
