Nobody said that. I said they were a fucking joke.

Another nice one from the Government: They announced in late 2006 that the supervision of the HE grants would go to a single body, i.e. the VECs. They were going to take it out of the hands of the Local Authorities and streamline the whole thing. Then they had the General Election. Mary Hanafin does fine. And then they decided, well, maybe it's too much bother. Or more like it was just an early shallow election promise in the first place.

Sorry if that's too obvious. Maybe you should call in the media anyway?

For international students, going to college in Ireland is the equivalent of a 401 scam.

Bring back fees, lower the charges for non-EU students, and maybe there'll be a decent system eventually. Right now, it sucks giant balls.

Good point, we should definitely be completely unfair to non-international students in favour of being "fair" to international students.
