Have you read the book? Wondering if I should or shouldn't before this is released.
Haven't read any DeLillo - not even White Noise or Underworld. Perhaps It's about time I did. Can't tell by this thread though, if it would be too much hassle

i haven't read the book. i've read falling man which was interesting. i tried underworld but gave up about a third of the way through. it was a chore

I liked Falling Man but wasn't hot on White Noise or Americana. I keep feeling I should like DeLillo but he's just a bit boring really.

Though, I will say that film looks good.

not what i was expecting at all. when it was called The Wettest County In The World i was expecting some sort of elegiac bittersweet drama about hard men living hard lives. This looks like Last Man Standing. Mixed feelings about that trailer

In the film, Affleck plays Tony Mendez, the agent who dreamed up the clandestine plan to extract the embassy workers. Mendez’s covert operation involved setting up a fake movie-production house — Studio Six Productions (heh) — with his friend John Chambers (played in the film by John Goodman). The op involved Mendez going into Iran and posing as an Irish movie producer and bringing out the State Department employees, who had escaped the taking of the embassy by sneaking out a back door, by disguising them as members of a film crew. When leaving the country, the plan went, the six would claim they were in Iran to scout for locations for their sci-fi movie.

The story follows Dusty, a yoga instructor from Colorado, who is on a desperate rescue mission to save her crazy brother Derek, a conspiracy theorist who is convinced Osama bin Laden is still alive, despite having been buried at sea. In Afghanistan, Dusty falls in with a team of NATO special forces on a secret assignment. Turns out Derek is not so crazy after all, and that Osama has returned from his watery grave and is making an army of zombie terrorists. When the group crashes headlong into the growing zombie apocalypse, Dusty and the troops must find and destroy the root of the zombie insurgency before it infests the rest of the world.
