I'm going from dublin - LA -Tokyo - Dublin
and the cheapest way to do it seems to book all 3 flights seperately.
Only thing is one way flights from Tokyo - Dublin cost a couple of thousand.
While the same flight return costs about 700.
Where can I get a cheap one way flight from Tokyo - Dublin?

can you not get the return and not go back?

You are definitely better off getting a return. Flying from Japan to Europe is always very expensive if only going one way. In fact most flights from Japan to non-Asian countries are generally pretty dear. I would recommend getting a return with KLM as they generally have some of the best deals via Amsterdam. I lived over there for a few years and they were always a good bet. Oh yeah you better get booking soon if you are going around golden week coz they hike up the prices for that time!

when are you going?

i booked a flight from dublin to tokyo return that went through charles de gaulle and it cost 700e return. got that through air france flying out end of august.

booked months in advance.
it also depends whats happening in tokyo at the time, there are certain big festivals during the year that means a lot of people are travelling to them and so gives the airlines an excuse to jack up prices.

i just did a quick test there on airfrance.com for end of june for a week and i get a return flight for 782euro.

give it a go.

Already checked airfrance.Return is 700 ish. with airfrance
Single is in the thousands (no Idea why).now I could just get the single but I'm betting someone does single for a lot less.

My dates arent fixed in stone but around:

Dublin - Los Angelos 21 April 2007
Los Angelos - Tokyo 30 April 2007
Tokyo - Dublin 13 May 2007

Best all in one deal I got offered was about 1.5 grand for all three flights.

However I could defo get Dublin - LA cleap on aer lingus at the moment (300 ish).
And I'm guessing I could get the others for around 500 each somewhere.

a couple of years back i few from mexico city to la on to toyko on my way to singapore, got some mexican airline for the first part but then got Japanese Airlines from LAX to Tokyo, worked out pretty cheap, where you been searching?

Ok the cleapest was to do it seems to be 2 returns.
Dublin LA return 21April-14May 552 euro
Then get return from LA to tokyo for 487 euro 1-14.
(ie I spend a day flying!! when I get back to LA from tokyo I use my return from LA to dublin)

Means I have to take 2 long haul flights one after another but works out at about a grand for 2 returns.

Cheapest multistop was about 1400.

ONE WAY
And buying 3 one way flight costs thousands
What is up with one way flights????
They cost about 3 times as much as the equivelent return.

I can get a cheap one way to LA on aerlingus
I can get cheap one way flight to london http://www.no1-travel.com
But still cant find a cheap one way LA-tokyo

Any suggestions or should I just stick to return flights?
