Looks like that could be it alright. I got a text from a friend whose brother saw the same thing in Phibsboro last night - "fireball kinda with an extra one underneath it...", and that he'd seen it the Friday before as well.

We set off one of those on a beach in Wexford one night, a few minutes later a giant light we hadn't noticed was pointing towards the beach and a few seconds after that the coast guard came along wondering who set off the distress flare ?!?!?!
