egg saying jinx lennon reminded me of "houses" by him which kind of sums up 00's ireland for me (and is also a great tune)

Listening to it right now:

'Local arsehole contractor turns, reading The Sun,
He's humming The Carpenters' tune "We've only just begun to live",
"This year is zero, tomorrow's day one.
Houses on the moon! Houses on the sun!"'

(a little hard to make out the accent, but I think that's what he's singing)

redneck manifesto - dillon family dancers
dudley corporation - what a human does
adebisi shank - caddyshank
only fumes & corpses - you're going out
moutpiece - stella
bacchus - slowly dying
so cow - casablanca
large mound - your holiday sounds boring
hooray for humans - signature (demo version)

all of catering for headphones by waiting room

i could probably name a favourite tune of everyone on thumped who was making music in the 00's, i could also name about 10 tunes that you never heard because the bands never really broke dublin (or their hometowns), but I'm not big on lists/top tens etc at the minute + my hard drive with all the stuff i would have listened to last decade isn't connected to anything.

this is not my fave, but most influential/likely to be remembered/biggest selling irish song of the 00's could be this.

Autumn Summer by Jape

But not the album version... the one with yer wan from the Chicks on backing vocals.

It was beautiful.

If anyone knows where I can get it again, please do tell.
