There was nearly as clash as Hassan came past Assefa but made no difference

RTE is showing artistic swimming instead of Fionnuala McCormack finishing.

Finishing marathon is worth a medal in a lesser sport.

Fionnuala McCormack was 28th just over 7 mins down.
In interview with RTE afterwards she was disappointed with her performance - these competitive types are never happy!
Fionnuala also said she loved the brutal course and would welcome more races like this.
