Re: Electric Picnic 2011 Lineup Speculations

if EP ends up witha better line-up taht Glasto I'll be fucking gutted, right now it's looking like I'll be spending five days in the naturist area

Re: Electric Picnic 2011 Lineup Speculations

Take it up with East Hastings

Re: Electric Picnic 2011 Lineup Speculations

Apprently Radiohead "Could be playing" according to someone who has never told a lie about upcoming announcements.

Re: Electric Picnic 2011 Lineup Speculations

a five piece band who work with complicated and subtle sounds with intimate lyrics playing in a windy rainy field in ireland to an audience who would also go to the gig if it was foo fighters, lady gaga, non first album qotsa etc etc because its the last blowout of the summer rather than a musophile thing. i'd love to see them live in ireland, but somewhere warm, dry and with a cracking sound system that does not include wind and people who wont be interested in the undancable tunes and have been drinking for 40 hours.

thats why.

Re: Electric Picnic 2011 Lineup Speculations

Unless they basically play Radiohead 1992-1998 I'd be lost

I'd love if lady gaga played though

Re: Electric Picnic 2011 Lineup Speculations

love radiohead on record these days. no desire to ever see them live as i reckon it'd be ruined for me, mainly by the shite drumming being undisguised by studio jiggery pokery

you mean when they were writing music for big windy fields??

I'm not going anyways. i just thought id radiohead do it then they mightnt bother playing a good venue for a while.

Re: Electric Picnic 2011 Lineup Speculations

That link didn't work but the list looks plausible enough

Arcade Fire - meh. Seen them a couple of times. They got worse each time (though were good the first time)
Pulp - undoubtedly the big draw but knowing that their playing EP is depriving us of a proper Pulp gig is only going to ruin things.
The Chemical Brothers - I hope its more exciting than their rubbish DJ set on the main stage a few years back. Fucking YAWN
Interpol - very 5 years ago. Boring live.
PJ Harvey - I'll leave her to the animal haterz
Beirut - good but wouldn't make me go to EP
Jimmy Cliff - don't know him
DJ Shadow - disappeared up is own hole after that 1 good album
White Lies - don't know them
OMD - its a sad fact that the 80s reunion acts are what I'd get most excited about these days. I'd love to see OMD
Midlake - played here 3 times in a year last year. They're done to death at this stage
The Charlatans - always excellent, but again a little bit done to death
Big Audio Dynamite - well that one song is good. I tried an album some time ago and didn't get it at all. But that one song still sounds great
The Go! Team - meh. They played here last weekend
Boys Noize - don't know them but they sound crap
Paul Kalkbrenner - ??
Mogwai - em, maybe
Adam Beyer - ??
Flying Lotus ??
LYKKIE LI - played at the last EP I was at and was boring.
Twin Shadow - DJ Shadow's twin?
Willy Mason - again, he has that one song, and what a song
Trentemoller - I don't know where I know Trentemoller from but I do.
Killing Joke - mildly interesting
Ivan St. John - saint and greavsie
Dave Clarke - I think I went to college with him
Caitlin Rose - <3 <3 <3
The Danger is - shes for the horn thread without a doubt. Shes gorgeous and has a great voice. Songs aren't the best though
O Emperor - meh
HEALTH - would be grand in Whelans
Adebisi Shank. - This is about the best band I see on this list
Mundy - hahahahahahaha
R.S.A.G. - needs a new gimmick
CODES - these are like the script?
The Walkmen - played the last EP I was at as well (2 years ago). They're grand enough
Sharon Shannon - not my cupan tae

5/10 - must try harder
