I don't think I've any wood in the shed big enough to try it. Would want to try it on a single piece, too much scope for delamination on a glued piece.

I’ve the back rest of the bench that timber came from if you want it - about 100-120mm wide and 36mm thick - exact same material/grain etc.

Guy I’m making this for wanted to leave the grain open, so the surface is a bit more uneven than I’d normally aim for

Mates dad pulled this out of a skip, it was filthy, so I gave it a clean and a once over, and set it up properly.
It’s a mid 90s beginner guitar, a reminder of how shitty and inconsistent a lot of these instruments were. That said it has a full sized hardwood body, and I’ve gotten it playing well. Pickups are odd - they are in afused plastic shell rather than magnets/bobbin with a plastic cover like 99.9% strat single coils

would be a touch too DTFM for my tastes - but its not an unattractive guitar.
finish feels a bit plasticky
