I don't know if anyone was watching the BBC news from Northern Ireland tonight, but there was a report which showed People from both the Falls Road and the Shankill Road outraged at a song which is going to be be on the new Decemberists album. The song glorifies the Shankill Butchers.The song is kind of sick to be honest it tells in grumesome detail how they prepared to kill their victims and how they celebrated their gruesome crimes. Now i have lived in belfast and i know that even thirty years on it is still a subject that is close to the bone. How would the americans like it if we wrote a song glorifing 9/11. I am a big fan of the Decemberists but i am dissapointed at their disregard for a subject they know absolutely nothing about. Shame on them.
