Hey all, we're supporting Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip this Friday here's the details....

POD Concert presents
DAN LE SAC vs SCROOBIUS PIP, DJ Cool C & Shock DJs
Friday January 18th Crawdaddy, Harcourt St, D2.
Doors 11.30pm

Having burst onto the musical landscape earlier this year with their heroic and heartfelt debut offering, Thou Shalt Always Kill, Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip are back in business in 2008.
Beat That My Heart Skipped, their more recent single, couples a rapid-fire Mr Pip rap with a pummeling Monsieur Le Sac electro-rock beat, all of which spins dizzily on the axis of the song's massive, bouncing sing-along chorus. Already receiving widespread and strong support on nationwide radio [Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe, John Kennedy, Rob Da Bank, etc] this eagerly anticipated sequel looks set to take up where our daring duo's debut left off.

Whilst only ever intended as a low-key limited edition 7", Dan and Scroobius' Thou Shalt Always Kill emerged victorious as the thinking man's summer anthem. The fuse was lit when the song quickly became the most publicly requested track in all eternity on XFM's Xposure show. Rave reviews followed, with The Guardian endorsing it as; "2007's first underground anthem" and NME enthusing "Scroobius Pip, you've written the Track Of The Year" - radio rotation rocketed with Zane Lowe naming it the Hottest Track in The World Right Now, and later his Single Of The Week, and Jo Whiley adopting Thou Shalt as her Pet Sound. With their low-fi video having clocked up a colossal 1 million + views on You Tube, Dan and Scroobius suddenly found themselves in what their parents call "the hit parade" and in high demand for the imminent summer festivals.

Not ones to rest on their laurels, Le Sac and Pip have spent the summer crafting their debut album - due out sometime in early 2008 - both at the studio and in the back of Scroobius' Toyota Space Wagon. In-between recording the duo have been wreaking havoc at festivals and live shows, the highlights of which have included; Glastonbury, Camden Crawl, Bestival, Latitude and support slots with Mark Ronson, RJD2, Lethal Bizzle and El-P. With their very own headline tour now scheduled for September, anyone yet to witness the pair's awesome prop-embellished live set is commanded to get thine self to one of the dates detailed overleaf.

The video for Beat That My Heart Skipped can be seen on computer and TV screens now. The single also comes with an excellent electronica-tinged remix from drum machine maestro and leftfield producer extraordinaire Jel, who's musical endeavors include stunning output as part of Anticon collective, instrumental solo releases and, more recently, within the band Subtle.

I just bought three of the last six tickets for this in Road. Sound Cellar and Ticketmaster are sold out. Don't know about City Discs.
