That works really well with black. I say go for it.

I have a navy duffle coat that I wear with everything. I mostly wear it with black and I usually wear it at night. So, it usually just looks black anyway.

Yep, I already have a navy one with a check hood, which I love but its a bit heavy to wear sometimes, this one looks a bit thinner.
