Is that the same stuff as Kriek Boom?
You can get that in blanch, it's pretty great.

I really like some of the Floris beers - they make a lovely summer drink. The passionfriut one is delicious. I have yet to find them in an off-licence though.

I can just about handle a bottle of that stuff... if its really cold.
Not mad about it at all at all.
Very sweet in fairness... you'd really want a bit bland food with it to sort of take the edge off.

Not necessarily sweet; Cantillon kriek is not at all sweet.
Apparently back in the day, you'd be given sugar with the kriek to sweeten it.

Cantillon also do a fantastic gueuze, not likely to find it around here though.
And they sell jam made from their beers.

I've had both the Lindermans and Boon Krieks. Wasn't mad on either. Both of those are Lambics (which is a beer fermented with wild yeast). I'd love to try some Cantilion beers but I think I'll need to visit Belgium. Boon Gueze is fantastic once you get used to the weird flavours. Gueze is Lambic without fruit.

Cantillon brewery is ten minute walk from the Midi train station.
Last time I was there, we called to the brewery arriving in Brussels, instead of on the way out. Carting two sizeable boxes across Brussels when one is coming back past the place again later anyway is not a good idea.
