Cheap Laptop? (1 Viewer)

I have a macbook Pro, which I use for music recording, and don't want to use that for the interscope. I want to get a cheap laptop for herself, for surfing the net, storing photos, word processing, updating ipod...it doesn't need to be good enough for playing games or anything.

Any model/manufacturer recommendations?

I can pick up the Acer Extensa 5230e locally for €350. That looks like it will do all I need. I'm told it might not drive Vista unless the RAM is upgraded, but I'm not fussed...XP will do grand. Are Acer reliable?

The Essus thingy with linux is grand for what you need and cheaper...
