Cheap hotels in Paris (1 Viewer)

Every time I've been to Paris I've either stayed somewhere nice but expensive, (which is kinda unjustifiable since I'm going on my own for research) or cheap and horrific (8th floor, no lift, accordionist playing outside the window until 4am).

Anyone know of anywhere cheap and cheerful?

I was just checking out Paris for the World Cup and it turns out I have enough Hilton points to stay at the Hilton Arc De Triomphe for free for the match.

It's for my dissertation: one day of archive research, one day of interviews.

Anywhere central would be fine. Montparnasse would be ideal.

this is the last place we stayed in. not the worst place we've stayed at in Paris.

I stayed there toblerone style before, is on the Boulevard St.Michel. Is no Montparnasse but good transport links, Jardin de Luxembourg and foot long paninis await you there. Also the nearby Hotel Andre Latin on rue Gay Lussac. You're looking at about 80 squids par nuit though but this is it.
