Casino Royale (3 Viewers)

FINALLY saw this today.

Some of my conclusions: chase scene at the beginning with the crane shit is the best thing I've seen in the long time; Judi Dench looks amazing at 72; "romance" has no place in a Bond flick; longest. poker. game. ever.; die Eva Green die; wouldn't mind torturing Daniel Craigs balls for a couple of hours. But in a good way. Well... good for me. Also defibrillator's gone wrong = comedy gold.

Top thoughts. I agree with torturing danels balls, mmmm hmmm! And the romance just made me boak. Still, wouldnt say no to seeing it again !ninjaaaa

this was actually the worst film I have ever saw in my life.. a random string of confusing chases, stuff happened, I got confused, Jimmy Nail playing Bond got confused... then Judi Dench rang Jimmy Nail on his SONY phone and explained what had just happened... then more stuff happend, everyone turned out to be a backstabbin shit, Jimmy Nail looked as confused as I felt, then *ring ring* it's Judi ringing, once again, to fill in the latest massive gaping headwound of a hole in the plot.... FOR TWO AND A HALF HOURS

also it was loud as fuck... I feared for my hearing at one point

also showing people dying slowly in close up, ala fella in jacks and fella in stairwell, amongst others, which I can only guess is to answer those who say these type of films desesatize us from the human mortality issue of said people dying, doesn't make it any more poignient or less fantastic... it just makes it creepy and actually a bit disturbed...

and I don't even want to talk about the ending....

ALSO it seems the main 'message' of this film, at the end of the day is, don't trust anyone, more or less... which just seems to fit into the Neo Con, Rupert Murdoch, Sky News, Post 9/11, War in Terror world view a little too neatly...

I'm really amazed at how upset I am about this piece of shit film

You know I went to The Departed last week and felt the same thing, about the gunshots especially. Fuck's sake ..... are cinemas actually trying to deafen us these days? Are we going to have to start wearing earplugs at the flicks?

This really bugs me too. The worst things is that they usually have the voice audio quite low volume. Makes it hell watching a film at home because one moment you're straining your ears to hear the dialogue and the next you're trying to turn the volume down before the neighbours decide to complain.

Anyway, back to Casino Royale... I will proably watch it when it shows on television. Bond films are not supposed to be good. It's the very tackiness and requirement for complete suspension of belief that makes them what they are - in my case, films I would never pay to see.

this has been said to me already, that it's only a "romp" but to my mind you might as well put on Westlife records and when people complain go "ah come, sure it's only a bit of fun". It amazes me that smart educated people who show taste and discretion in every other aspect of their lives flock to watch a load of cack like Casino Royale...

I don't know, I'm going to stop now...

you can read more in my upcoming book...

"CINEMA: THE ONLY MEDIUM WHERE THE AUIDENCE ACTUALLY REWARDS THE PRODUCER FOR INSULTING THEIR INTELLEGENCE"

I love the title! So true.

Product placement has always been rife in bond films.

In the 60's he used to exclusively drive an aston martin and the it seemed the camera was forever pointing to Roger Moores digital Seiko watch.

Seiko watches are excellent btw.

or say 'but it's nice, inoffensive music'.

pricks.

I quite like Bond movies but they've been pretty dull for the last 30 years with one glowing exception - Licence To Kill.
