I think Daniel Craig was a bit too broody at times and it did drag on a bit but PHOWAR!

Although all the romance was a bit vomit-worthy by the end, but you can't have a Bond film without him 'getting the girl' etc. He does run like a machine though.

Kick ass!

went to see it last night. Daniel Craig rules! broody is good. I think he brought much more depth to the character. fight scenes were vicious. it was a little all over the shop towards the end - dragged out love scenes etc. - but yeah this is the best Bond ever.

If anyone's planning to see this and has an unread copy of The Observer's Review section, avoid Philip French's review as it gives away the ending.

enjoyed this immesnely. the fight and chase with the lad in madagascar was class. did anybody else see richard branson in it?

eva green was something else....

yeah saw him alright. jerk in airport security.

The start was deadly, especially all that Parkour shit.
All this "meaner moodier" stuff just means less jokes, he was always cold blooded like.

It's a good laugh.

The film ruled. Craig was great and the opening chase was amazing.
I spotted that Branson prick. He also showed up in Superman. Whats the point?
He could squeeze his head into a jam-jar, I bet!

and then I'd smash that jam-jar and take it straight to the bank.

I generally like Bond, but I had some major issues with this. The gadgets sucked, for one, and Daniel Craig, while a good actor and a TOTAL RIDE, just isn't the sort of Bond I prefer.

Also, it was waaaayyy too long, and it read like a fucking mobile phone ad. The parkour crap was so contrivedly 'edgy', like watching someone else play a video game, and then, ack, I'm no fun at all. Wish they'd done more with the Body Worlds thing, spent more time there, maybe had a more intense game of cat-and-mouse among all the plastinated bodies. I imagine that they initially shot one, but it must have been edited out. Too bad, though.

It's a decent romp, but I thought it was just another action-adventure movie, and not really the renewal of the Bond tradition that it's touted to be. I think that since the Austin Powers movies, they can't really go back to the lounge-lizard Bond without being too much self-parody, but I don't feel entirely happy with this new direction. The end of the Cold War was truly the death knell for Bond.

Plus, it was way too violent and there were several close shots of the faces of corpses and I thought that was fucking ick.
