Yo,

I bought a Sovtek Tube Midget 50 head recently enough and I was checking some cabs out for use with it - want to stick to 2x12 for the time being and I found this Marshall:

4 ohm mono input from a 50w head...would that give me decent enough whack or would I have to look elsewhere?I'm a novice when it comes to shit like this!
Thanks :)

What's the output(expected load) on your head? It should be written beside the speaker out in ohms.

The head has a choice of 4,8 or 16 ohms output but the cab takes 4 ohms mono or 8 stereo...

Should be grand so, the 4 ohm output should be the most powerful on the head so matching that with a four ohm cab will be spot on.

I'd nearly go out on a limb and say get the Harley Benton vintage 2x12 if your stuck for money as it's probably as good if not better than that one, and cheaper too.

Nice one!
I ended up getting the Marshall and used it at a gig the other night...it was grand,a bit bassy for my liking but that seemed to be just me....

Tom,is your head similar to mine? Two inputs, one high one low?Just that the other night I had a mess with it there was a noticeable difference between the low and high channels in terms of volume, not just in gain...
