Hey there Thumped folks.....just wanted to let y'all know that Belfast band Pay*ola will be supporting mighty LA rockers Buckcherry at Crawdaddy on Sunday 4th September (doors 7.30pm). If anyone reading this has a penchant for real rock'n'roll, and hasn't got a ticket for this show yet....sort it out! Completely aside from blowing the Pay*ola trumpet, Buckcherry are a bloody fantastic rock band....all 3 albums are top drawer....and y'just know it's going to be an immense gig. Check them out on www.myspace.com/buckcherry

As for ourselves? We've played Dublin a load of times, in many different venues....and we've met a lot of good people on our travels....probably best known down there as the band who supported Audislave at The Point....and also Quo in the same venue. We have an album out on English label Tomcat Records. You can hear tunes at www.myspace.com/payolarock

Can't recommend this gig highly enough.....here's the official press stuff:

PAY*OLA ANNOUNCE HIGH PROFILE SUPPORT SLOTS:
PRESS RELEASE:

Belfast rock’n’roll band Pay*ola are pleased to announce 3 fantastic high-profile support slots in the near future. Firstly, the boys have been added to the bill for LA rockers Buckcherry’s upcoming Irish shows – in Crawdaddy, Dublin on Sunday 3rd September, and The Limelight, Belfast on Monday 4th September. “We are all massive fans of Buckcherry” states Pay*ola front man Philip McCarroll – “they’re one of the best rock’n’roll bands to emerge in the last ten years, and are massively underrated. We’re thrilled to be sharing a stage with them – forget Axl and his glorified tribute band and Jon Bon Jovi’s license to print money…these are the Irish rock gigs of the year – no mistake!”

In another piece of brilliant news, Pay*ola have landed the support slot for British rock legends Status Quo’s upcoming Belfast show – in the huge Odyssey Arena on Tuesday 24th October – part of the band’s “Party Ain’t Over Yet” World Tour. “We supported Quo back in 2002 on their Heavy Traffic tour” says Philip “and it was a dream come true for me, as they are one of the bands who got me into this music in the first place. To get the chance again, and in the biggest indoor arena in my hometown – priceless!”. Tickets for all 3 of these shows are available on www.ticketmaster.ie

The slots are a welcome boost for the band, who are still promoting their debut album “Try Everything Twice”, released on English independent rock label Tomcat Records late last year, to critical acclaim. The boys have an increasingly busy gigging schedule for the next few months, and have also been in Manor Park Studios in Co. Antrim recently, starting work on material for a future release. Pay*ola also play the following shows:
Sunday 27th August: Hilden Beer festival
Monday 28th August: Shoreline Festival, Jordanstown
Saturday 9th September: The Hoot, Downpatrick
Thursday 12th October: Jamie’s Bar, Banbridge
Saturday 21st October: Common Rooms Bar, Dungannon
