"Born/Dead is a dark, anarchist crust punk band that formed in late 2000 in Oakland, California with the rhythm Section, Bill Jackson and Wyatt Culbertson of the Long-time East Bay Punk band Chemical Imbalance and the guitarist from the short lived Santa Cruz, California band No Options. Born/Dead's sound and lyrics are influenced by classic American Hardcore punk, UK peace punk and political Punk bands such as Crucifix and Aus-Rotten. In 2001 after mercilessly gigging in the San Francisco Bay Area, the band released their debut 5-song 7" EP "24 Hostages" as the first release on the Guitarists No Options record label which sold briskly leading the band to begin work on a full length record.

With initial tracks recorded, the band approached long time bay area crust and hardcore punk label, Prank Records who had released records by His Hero Is Gone, Guyana Punch Line, Antischism, Damad and others to do the record. The Nine-Song "Our Darkest Fears Now Haunt Us" was released in 2003 on LP/CD and featured a heavier sound than the debut. The LP's release lead the band to its first major U.S. tour, followed quickly by a tour of Europe. Returning from Europe, the band recorded a side of a split LP with European tour mates Consume that was released on Germany's Yellow Dog Records.

In 2004, long time original drummer Bill Jackson left the band to concentrate on his other group, Strung Up. He was replaced by Josh Carman. The band prepared new material and in 2005 returned with a limited Edition 5-Song 12" EP sold on a series of tours in the United States and Europe. This new material was more experimental while staying strong to Born/Dead's hardcore attack. Parts of this material was released in broader release on a 7" EP on Prank Records. In 2006 the band toured the West Coast with classic UK peace punk stalwarts The Subhumans, and released a split 7" EP on Tankcrimes records with San Francisco's Peligro Social. In 2007 they released “The Final Collapse” on Prank records are currently on a mammoth world tour…"

"Carry No Banners played their first gig in June of this year. Since then they have played all over the country and recorded an album which is due for release in November. The hardest and fastest working street punx from Ireland ever?"

"Captain Spaulding don't give a shit about anything really it seems. They play their unique brand of uber fast screaming punk without once nodding to the most recent trends....
They have also taken to including every song they have in their setlists. On a couple of occasions they have only had 20-minute slots. Not to be beaten they would just play the songs faster. – kollin shevchenko, night of the locust zine"
