Does no harm to be aware of what you're buying when it comes to packaging. And sometimes asking in the shop if they'll keep it.

Yeah, its basically chicken bones and the like that gets binned. No great quantity of food.
I'm sure we do but I've never seen one.
People seem to do that in Aldi a lot - make purchases, remove excess packaging, leave shop. Legally however, while the EU provides that 'producers' of packaging (that is anyone that distributes a packaged good) is obliged to recover the waste, the Irish government in their infinite kindness provides an opt out for retailers etc provided they pay a fee. So yeah, the shop would most likely refuse to keep the packaging.
