Due to it's amazing intro and middle eight...todays best song is "No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed" by YES

I love really early YES

Heart of the Sunrise live on YESSONGS is probably my favourite piece of music ever.
Roundabout would be up there too
prog is deadly!

What's the YES song at the end of Buffalo 66 when Vincent Gallo
shoots the guy in the bar?

It is a fucking incredible piece of music.

original.

grace jones' cover is a bit mad, really. 80s funk reggae. but then she also did a barmy cover of 'she's lost control', too.

does anybody know what a 'leatherette' is? it sounds kind of ambiguous and terrifying at the same time.

i was talking about 'warm leatherette' a while ago, and my co-conversationalist opined that it was the kind of song that a bastard capitalist yuppie would have on while murdering someone. damn straight.

in other news, this song is the same age as me.

leatherette is imitiation leather - as used in the interior of cars. the song is a reference to JG Ballard's Crash

The guy behind the Normal started Mute rekkids.

The only song's I've heard today have been:

"The house that guilt built", "Happy" and "She sends Kisses" by the Wrens; "Carwash" by X-tina and the first half of the new live aid song.

I declare "She Send Kisses" to be the worlds greatest song. But that cover of Suzanne is pretty great too, I might just pull out my Nina Simone CD's as soon as possible.
totally dude, the wrens fucking rule the world. i'ma a huge fan of ex-girl collection and this boy is exhausted. have you head secaucus? downloaded most of it of the pornoweb. raucous stuff.

I haven't no, my mate that turned me on to them has it downloaded but he hasn't got around to burning me a copy yet, I've heard a split E.P. that they did with Five Mod Four and it's not very good.

I fucking love that band; in fact, seeing as they're unlikely to come over here to gig any potential holiday to the US is going to coincide with them gigging.
