I saw this band and they impressed me enough to buy a shirt and cd. Unfortunately the Dismemberment Plan who the played with was one of the worst bands I ever had to witness.

certainly best 3piece post rock.

Glenn Branca - Fuckin' A!

For the guy that was into this, have you got your hands on that Rhys Chatham boxset? - Head Ex. Plo. des.

It's all badly stuck labels - I mean, really who the fuck would go around calling themselves a postrock band...

get thee to pseud's corner, cuntboys!

(Rhythms, Revolutions and Clusters is pretty good though..., as is Guitarrorists (sic?))

It post rock "over" already? Damn, i wanted it to keep going

Well according to the NME (or was it Melody Maker) exposee on post rock back in the day (after The Wire had already done it), Main, Scorn and God were three of the main protagonists of the post rock syndrome. So rather than say Slint, Tortoise or Godspeed, I'll say my favourite post rock albums are;
Motion Pool and Dry Stone Feed by Main
Possession and Loco by God
Evanescence and Vae Solis by Scorn

Still like your Tortoises, Mogwais and Slints mind you, just tryin to be different.

And that photo of GYBE above reminds me of exactly the view I had of them downstairs at the Mogwai ATP years ago. Nifty.

SMZ have one amazing album called "born into trouble as the sparks fly upward" which is one of my favourite albums ever. it's basically just guitars and strings, little else. the other stuff isnt great really but i'd def recommend that album.
