The world of good currently are a singer, guitarist and drummer. We hope to add a bass player in the next two weeks and play our first gig around the end of September. We currently have 7-9 songs ready to go and a handful of other ideas. We would also like to eventually add a synth, loop, computer, dj type person but the immediate goal is to be gigging with the four piece.

We have the beginnings of a website at www.theworldofgood.com There are 4 songs up there. These are demos that were mostly recorded with sequenced drums and bass. They have a bit of a NIN or electronic feel which is mainly because of the medium and is not necessarily the direction we are looking for with a full band. Being that the band is relatively new the musical direction is not set in stone but you will get an idea from the demos. Also the bass parts on these recordings are open to interpretation.

As a band we have a lot to offer like a permanent rehearsal space, and a professional recording studio. We are looking for a bass player who can be creative but understands the role of the bass and can hold down a tight groove. Also we are hoping to find someone with playing and recording experience and someone who is into the music.

We are going to hold auditions on Wednesday and Thursday this week. If interested or with questions or for a chat please ring, text, or email.

the role of the bass? you mean "we need a bass player who won't get any fancy ideas about upstaging the rest of the band or standing in front of the singer at gigs"

God, you non-bass players are all the same!

Thanks for the bump anyway.
Being a good rhythmic, groove orientated bass player does not mean that parts won’t be interesting or intricate. In fact we hope to find someone who is very melodic. Take for instance the drop out in the second pre-chorus of “Phoney.” That is a very flash bass part and we would be thrilled to find someone who could play it. Also notice that there are no guitar solos in any of the songs. Are looking for more of a band/song mentality.

BTW the band is based in Dublin and the studio is in the city center.
