Having touched down in Sao Paolo, Sydney, Auckland & London the Bacardi B-Live series launches in Dublin next month with a Dublin debut by Metro Area (Morgan Geist & Darshan Jersani) & funk outfit The New Master Sounds. Following in their trail over the coming bank holidays will be Hot Chip (DJ Set), Bugz in the Attic and DJ Medhi on April 8th and Tony Allen, Mr Scruff and Low B on May 6th.

The Bacardi B-Live Series, which launches in the POD on March 18th, is set to funk up Bank Holiday Sundays in the city forever. Drawing an eclectic mix of music through collaborations of world class DJ's, musicians, live vocalists and percussionists, the B-Live Series will fuse its legendary festival atmosphere with the intimate party vibe of the POD.

Firmly established as a must-see on the Irish festival circuit, Bacardi B-Live continues its commitment to showcasing leading international and local artists with the launch of the Bacardi B Live series.

The Bacardi B-Live Club Series has established itself as one of the most unique club experiences around the world and is now set to become a fixture on the calendar here taking place every Bank Holiday Sunday across three rooms in Dublin's premiere club setting.

Mixing skills aren't just confined to those on the decks with the Bacardi B-Live bartenders on hand to demonstrate their flair by serving up the latest and most refreshing cocktails. Taste a classic such as Bacardi, Coke and fresh lime or sip Ireland’s favourite festival cocktail, the legendary Mojito.

The Barcardi B-Live Series will add a legendary dash of vibrant Latin spirit to create a mouth-watering cocktail of fluid beats, dancing feet and the best rum in town.

METRO AREA: The brainchild of veteran producers Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani, Metro Area was born out of the pair's somewhat dichotomous love for both the old moods of R&B, disco and boogie and the more cutting-edge sound of innovative house and techno. The Brooklyn based Metro Area bring back the soulful experimentation of the early club classics, mixing live and electronic instruments. Simultaneously, the mood and minimalism of more recent dance music forms creep into the mix: Detroit's cold futurism, Chicago's abstract track-modes, and the warmth of New York and New Jersey's deep house.

THE NEW MASTERSOUNDS: Spearheading the funk revival are the world renowned UK act The New Mastersounds who draw on influences as diverse as Jimi Hendrix, Lou Donaldson and the Meters. As a band, and as individuals, they have since clocked up collaborations with an impressive array of musicians DJs and producers, including: Lou Donaldson (Blue Note), Corinne Bailey Rae (EMI), Quantic (Tru Thoughts), Carleen Anderson, Keb Darge & Kenny Dope (Kay Dee Records), John Arnold (Ubiquity), Mr Scruff (Ninja Tune), Snowboy (Ubiquity), Fred Everything (2020vision), Andy Smith (Portishead), Norman Jay MBE, James Taylor (JTQ), Adrian Gibson (Freestyle), LSK (Faithless), The Greyboy Allstars and Karl Denson

DISCONAUTS: Home-grown talent comes in the form of the unrivalled Disconauts who will deliver yet another dynamic live set of horn and beat-led house. Disconauts formed in 1996 as a collaboration between the DJ skills of Padraic O’Connor and Keith O’Hanlon and the mercurial latin percussion of Mark Logan. In the late 90’s, the trio expanded their sound with the addition of a brass section of a world-class calibre. Mike Kearsey (trombone), Steve Hamilton (saxophone) and Ben Edwards (trumpet) have played throughout the world with such high-class bands such as Radiohead, Basement Jaxx and Amy Winehouse. Disconauts are currently busy recording new material for release in 2007.

DISCO BRASIL: Live Brazilian Club Night. Oficina da Capoeira (live). Lex Woo + Samba Dancers. Playing the best of the best of Brazilian music - live samba, baile-funk, tropicalia, batacuda, and forro.

CAPOEIRE DANCERS: A Brazilian martial art originating from the 1500s, members fought with music and the winner won a partner, usually female. Participants form a roda (circle) and take turns playing instruments, singing, and sparring in pairs in the centre of the circle. The game is marked by fluid acrobatic play, feints, subterfuge, and extensive use of groundwork, as well as sweeps, kicks, and headbutts. Technique and strategy are the key elements to playing a good game.
