Undoubtedly the best film I've ever seen. I didn't think it was possible to make a film that fucking amazing. It was stunning. Anyone who wasn't bowled over by it is too world-weary to appreciate anything good in life and should go kill themselves immediately.

One word description of people that don't like it:

Pretentious.

Great flick, rated higher than Aliens on IMDB and I'd agree.

See it in 3D.

Will def see it again in cinema.

3 hours plus, felt like 2, at most.

Great, great fun!

I'm afraid you haven't convinced me Milanpan!c.

It looked impressive but was still only OK.

That's where I am with it. Great, great fun.
Will probably see it again if it's still playing in Cineworld 17.

I couldn't care less who likes it or not.

Big budget cinematic experience in paperthin plotline shocker.

The 3D on the screen I saw it on was rubbish. Don't bother going to see this unless it's on a big IMAX screen.

I can't believe it's 50 posts into this thread and no one's had the wit to say: "Pfft, I've seen better avatar's on Thumped!"

I feel the need to clarify this, seeing as so many of you disapproved.

I enjoyed this film very much, in spite of it's predictablity. In fact, I didn't mind that at all. It's a Hollywood blockbuster, it's supposed to be clichéd. It'd be better if there was more to the story, but there isn't, so it doesn't matter.

HOWEVER, the 3D screen I saw it on was rubbish. That's not James Camerons fault, it was the cinema's fault. This film has to be seen in 3D, and it has to be seen on a massive screen capable to providing you with the 3D experience it deserves.

And the last line of that post is hilarious.

I thought it was fairly deadly despite the paper think plot.. sitting right up the front helps the 3D, yer not looking over anyones heads.. I started to wonder about a quarter of the way through how yer man was gonna permanently stay in the avatar body, the scene where they tried to put Grace into one was a bit of an ould deus ex machina.. still great.. eehh, it's no way near as good as Aliens, c'mon like

So is this movie any fucking use or what?

Me missus wants to go tonight.I'm not convinced.

i love yer mans rousing battle speech

"they think they can take our land but we will show them no you cant take our land ooOOoaaRRgghh"
