Unfortunately the garda sources in the article specifically say that they believeChocohead said:i would wonder why they felt the need to do it. why generate cash when you're earmarked for extinction? That would concern me more than the fact of hijacking, as it would mean they didnt intend to go the peace route.
Again though, one or two ex provos could have been involved, but I don't think the PIRA itself as an organisation was involved as it would be just to stupid a thing for them to do at this stage of the game.
the hijackers to be PIRA and not dissident republicans.
This then raises some very awkward questions.
I don't expect you ever to admit that Sinn Fein and the PIRA are the same thing.
I also don't believe you to be a raving terrorist.
I think you're passionate about your beliefs.
But I believe your beliefs are dangerous and I regret to say that you are what's
known as a "useful idiot". SF/PIRA target passionate misguided folk like you.
However, as annoying as this may be to you, the vast majority of Irish people and the dogs in the street know damn well that SF/PIRA are one and the same.
We're not stupid.
Yet we're expected to listen to this organisation ( SF/PIRA ) lecture us on democracy, prisoner release, restoring the assembly institutions etc etc while they are actively commiting armed robbery to raise funds!
And, yes, *why* are they raising funds?
To contribute to election costs...
