Advice on selling a laptop (1 Viewer)

I have a Dell laptop that I want to sell. I bought from a guy on adverts, and I don't have any installer disks or anything so I can't do a clean install of the OS before I do. So my questions are:

- is there somewhere online I could get a copy of the OS and do a clean install? I have no serial codes.
- is there a way to revert the OS to it's original factory settings, deleting all the content on the machine?

The last time I was in this situation I deleted everything and installed ubuntu. Though I was giving the computer away so the person wasn't in much of a position to complain! You can reorder the installation disks, I've done this before, but it'll cost a few quid. The one thing I'd be careful to do is to wipe everything using one of those secure erase programmes.

Step 1: Tell us what operating system is on it.

Step 2: Someone here will surely be able to give you a lend of some installation discs.

Step 3: Retrieve your existing installation serial code using something like this:

Or this: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
Or just look in your registry (location will differ depending on operating system)

Step 4: Download the drivers pack for your specific machine from the dell website
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriversHome/NeedProductSelection

9 Cell 7200mAh battery
If I don't reinstall the OS It has Office 2010 Professional on it.
