A Double Bass Pedal... (1 Viewer)

do you mean one of those pedals that make your guitar sound like a bass guitar, or (probably more likely) a double foot pedal for a kick drum?

If she is the former, I can help you, yes?

If she is the latter, I is not so able to be helping, very sorry.

you have a pedal that makes a guitar sound like a bass guitar?

huh?

Yes. Yes, I do. It's called an Octave pedal, a basic stomp pedal, and it works by isolating the main frequency from the audio put through it, and down-sampling it by one and two octaves. The main drawback is that with a normal elec guitar, there's loads of harmonics bouncing around all over the place, so the sound is all bubbly and messy. Can be overcome by rolling off the treble on the guitar's EQ control and using the bridge pickup, to get a purer tone with less harmonics. Chords are an absolute no-no, and it gives a fairly dull bass sound, though.

Boss have one, mine is the cheaper one. No real difference tween the two.

except the yellow-on-grey panel is white-on-brown on mine. i've barely used it, bought it about 10 years ago for £60 (fuck am i that old?)
it's probably only worth about 30 yoyos or so.

most of these people hated it
this one is probably better http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM03/Content/Boss/PR/OC-3.html
i'd reckon it's pricy like a bitch, though
there's a Danelectro one, called the ChilliDog, they're pretty cheap.

can you change the pitch by turning knobs and shit?
i'll give you 20 bucks for it (cos it's an arion. piece of shit pedals)

oh right Octave pedals, I wasn't thinking...

Andy do you have a Zoom 505? If you get an expression pedal for it you can use it to change the pitch on the pitch shifter patches. On setting raises with the pedal, the other drops an octave.

Obviously its cheap and nasty sounding.

Zoom 505's rule!!

nah, the pitches are fixed. the knobs just change the volume levels of the main signal and the two sub oscillators. and yeah, it's a big steaming pile of poo.
so why am i selling it? wasn't really, but if you're up in dublinia over the next while, PM us and i can sell it to you. €25.

I saw all the replies and thought that loads of people wanted to sell me Double Bass Pedals (the kick thingy kind). This is MY thread, quit stealing MY thread!!!

Yeah someone help him out! Make Scientific Bong sound more rock. .|..|
Hey waitaminute---
Are you gonna use it for Orchard?? Oh yeah Jamie says he doesn't want to use Fields of Fire. Ah well, we couldn't really since they're already a band.

I'll see what I can do to help you anyway.
