I'd take "See You On the Other Side" over "Boces" any day. And Deserters Songs is far from rubbish. Everything since is pretty shit though.

Oasis, definitely though.
Weezer, mon dieu Pinkerton is freakishly good still, Falling For You come on random today on my iPod. Monumental.

Mercury Rev were absolutely rubbish before Deserter's Songs. That was cute, if flimsy, and they've been boring since.

I'll go back to Placebo. One of the least tolerable bands of all time, in my opinion. I would happily revoke the Geneva Convention for one day only to allow all manner of abuses befall Brian Molko. Their worst moment was that Pure Morning song.

first deftones album is easily their weakest. their 2nd and 3rd are their best. probably.

though I never liked Placebo - due mostly to Molko's incessant affected whinging - Pure Morning was the only song I liked and could listen to. he was actually a pretty good guitarist and I liked a few of their riffs, but I think ultimately I hated them because he was a just horror of a human being. difficult to look at, difficult to hear, difficult to believe a word he said / sang.
