90s bands with really good first 2 albums... (1 Viewer)

What's threatening about calling someone a wankbag? You called me a cunt, i was only responding in kind. Stop trying to make it out to be something it wasn't.

paw.
headswims album were poor, but their first few eps were top.

Mansun fit this quite well IMO

The Presidents of the USA? maybe
Belly only had two albums but they're both good....

Are Mansun still together? I thought they were sent to indie Dachau in the great Britpop cull of '99.

What was the name of that crowd with the mullets and the tank-tops that NME tried to hype? Tiger or something.

You say that like it's a bad thing

edit: oh and I think that band you're on about were King Adora, it was Melody Maker who hyped them, not NME. Which was why they disappeared when Melody Maker went under.

well that and they were pretty bad. The Law was a good song though

This entry is very kind to them methinks (maybe they wrote it themselves?)

Anyway...Mansun. I only bought 'Attack Of The Grey Lanterns' and the song titles & their swaggering image were more interesting than the music: all obvious dur-dur-dur bass-lines, sloppy pointless guitar wig-outs and bombastic drum patters common to a lot of Nineties 'indie' groups.
Hey, I liked Duran as an impressionable ten year old but when I heard a few more records and grew a bit of sense hindsight showed them up to be pretty dreadful-like a ball-less, soulless corporate version of Roxy Music or Adam & The Ants.

Listen to their second album.

but whatever, I think the songs and the sequencing of the first album still stand up
