I'm listening to it being soundtrack be Steve Reich. It's pretty deadly.

It's so quiet and sparsely ... Err... Motored.

A few people commented that it looked like any Chinese city in the 1980s, which is kinda interesting.
According to Wikipedia (which is as good a source as any given the fact that it's North Korea were talking about) Pyongyang has a population of 2.5 million in an area (I assume they mean the whole county) of 400 square miles Dublin by comparisson has 1.1 million people within it's metropolitan area which is 125 square miles.

Ireland as a whole is 32,000 square miles North Korea is 46,000 square miles.

My question is this where are these 24 million North Koreans ? Again according to Wkipedia their top 10 cities only accounted for about 7 million. I remember a reporter describing North Korea as being stuck in the dark ages and poorer than you could possibly imagine but seriously do the majority of a population of 24 million live in small rural towns ? That's mind boggling.

Even this image doesn't really explain it.

Lets say there are even 10 cities there^^^ and they only hold 7 million combined, and half of that are in pyongyang alone. It's bonkers.

There's actually a lot more cars on the road than I thought. Plus, the buses look pretty decent.
Note the absence of any traffic lights.
Edit: Oh, there are. at 7.28!

Practically or almost zero advertisement anywhere except maybe the odd state sign.

I keep thinking of the videogame Civilisation.
These guys have seriously got their infrastructure in order. When the time comes they're going to hugely benefit from this availability of roads.
Assuming two things:

- The infrastructure is the same across the country

- The country isn't bombed into oblivion before "the time comes"

Looks pretty great tbh.

I didnt spot anyone dining on a shoe
