Substance is Ireland's newest Techno and Electro night. Our aim is to showcase the best international electronic artists and DJ's from Europe and further afield. We also endeavour to provide new, up and coming and current Irish artists and DJ's with the opportunity to play their own unique style of electronic music and unleash their talents on the unsuspecting techno public.

All this folks, is provided in the most friendly and accessible manner possible in our deep, dark, underground surroundings (www.theunderground.ie)

SAMUEL L. SESSION / SLS
Swedish old school - techno legend “ Samuel L. Session “ a.k.a. “ SLS ” has been developing his underground sound since the end of 80's. Starting from mixing hip hop, house and techno, he soon moved straight into the techno rumble founding his first label "Solid Beat". Few years later, when he started to become one of the main producers of the classic techno sound, Sam was ready to push things forward and founded "Cycle", one of the most respected Techno labels of the 90’s. Further to this, in a later stage of his carrier, he gave birth to an even more respected moniker, label, and a traditional mark named “ SLS “.

Mainly thru these steps Samuel improved his artistic profile and, along the years , he gained respect and remixes requests by legendary and classics labels as Intec, Planet E, Soma, Kms and Ibadan to name a few. These and more kicked off his carrier as he deserved and established Samuel as a Maid-stone in the underground music industry till this very moment.

It was in 2006, when Samuel, willing to drive his sound on the deeper side of techno, founded his own “ Klap klap “ label. In the same year he released his phenomenal hit “Can you relate “: track that soon became one of the biggest techno anthem of the year.

After this, many records labels and managements started looking at Samuel with lot of interest: but Samuel made his choice and joined, alongside some of the most respected artists of the recent time, the Shlomi Aber’s Be As One Imprint Crew, which these days its Samuel's new management and bookings house.
With a very busy booking schedule of this never laid back artist, Samuel’s artistic profile keeps on growing, playing in big events, festival and the best clubs around the globe.

Support on the night comes from none other than Ireland's general man about town Dan McElligott. Dan continues to fill dancefloors wherever he plays and absolutely blow the audience away with his unique, deep and twisted sound of techno. Dan started DJing and the tender age 15 and now at the even more tender age of 21 has matured as possibly one of Dublin's and Ireland's top techno DJs. Dan also has his own radio show on 93.2 Frequency FM were you can catch him on his anorak jack show (www.anorakjack.com). This shady charcter can be found lurking around record bags and various mp3's on the coldest Irish Monday nights. You have been warned!

Kicking off proceedings on the night is Darren Sheils who has been around a while on the Dublin techno scene. Darren has played support to Corrugated Tunnel, Chymera and Jamie Behan to name a few and has played at all of Dublin's big nights including Electric City, Acii Disco, Hospital and Twelve Hands in the Temple Bar Music Centre. Darren will be taking the first third of this epic night and promises to provide the early revellers with some dirty, philty sounds.

Admission is €15 and €12 with flyer.
