I'm sure a Maxtor or Western digital will do you...if you want reliabilty you will probably have to pay for it and go for a glyph or the like, but even at that I doubt if any hard drive is 'unbreakable'. It sounds obvious but you should probably back-up important files in a few different...

If you just want a bog standard one for filing away all your stuff, then Western Digital, Maxtor, or Lacie would probably be alright. If you need to run applications off it or write to it quickly, maybe you should go for something more expensive like G-Tech, Iomega, Seagate, or Glyph.

Is this a free VST wrapper you speak of? Linky please? Got the macbook running Pro-tools on OSX and XP via bootcamp, so I might wrap a few of my old VSTs and use PT in XP for now. Or maybe record in OSX and mix in XP...dunno yet...twould be to find some documentation to prove that running PTs...
