Careful with degaussing heads. You can damage the coil within the head if used improperly. What's the problem with the Space Echo? Low output, lack of top end, hum?

I have. I used the hd 650s. The hd 650s had more apparent bottom end going on. But comparitively, the K701s are more open sounding. Better imaging. Nicer top end. Very very comfy. If anything the hd 650's bottom end seemed more hyped. The K701s have really good bottom end too, although...

AKG K701s. Pricey but Great. Open back so not good for tracking vocals etc.. Amazing detail though. Great for checking out L-R balance.

It wasn't so much the abuse as the whiny noise they try to pass off as a speaking voice. Said whiny noise is further enhaced by the crappy mic on the 360 headset. They even say "pwned" even though it's a vowel short of a pronouncable word.
