Like not being a verb, it can't mean the same thing as said. It can, however, be appended to a sentence and be devoid of any actual meaning, like.
I mean it in the context of:
I was like, "Oh my god"
and she was like, "you so did not say that"
so really I should have said "was like" instead of "said"
