I think he was upset because Ben was one of his last routes back to the island.

Nah, not not bluffing - the other doctor (hamill) said he was the new chief of surgery, which used to be christian shephards job. I'm guessing it was a reference to his old man being dead, as in get him down here (from heaven). If so, it was a pretty lame thing for the writers to have Jack say, even when he was as completely fucked up as he was, but in combination with the forged prescription it was enough to maintain the illusion of it all being a flashback.

I missed an episode a few weeks ago, following the one where Ben showed Locke that he was holding prisoner the dude that took Lockes kidney. What happened next or did they just drop it? And what tape did Locke show Sayer that has him all narky with Kate?
