I remember Simon Reynolds describing JAPAN's image in one of his books and except for an enormous dose of machismo he could have been describing Motley Crue or Poison. So that has to be factored in.

Sid was a huge Eddie Cochran fan and looked very at odds w/ mid 70's. Some great photos of him from that era.

Sid did have a Marc Bolan hair moment in 1975 but mostly he looked like this.

I had never heard of him until I went to a friend’s music festival in 2008(?) and he booked Wilson. One of the weirdest gigs I’ve ever seen. 10/10.
