Probably would do f all good, but one might feel better by turning up. I'll be in town tomorrow anyway, so I'll probably turn up and say 'Yeah!' at the appropriate time.

They've starved and deprived the Gazans of medicine for the last 8 months, then send in a few aid truck over the course of a couple of days and that gives them the moral highground to bomb the place. They are literally crazy.

Possibly the Israelis feel that they might get away with more with a lame duck/blind eye American president than they would otherwise. I don't think Obama can make a lot of difference, considering the yanks are fully behind Israel. Possibly the Israelis are so nuts that they think Obama is going to try to tame them.

It's very hard to understand their motivation. Do they want to destroy the Palestinians because they have a valid claim to much of Israeli property and land?

Don't think anyone disagrees that the blockade on Gaza and the threat to bomb the 'relief-supply' tunnels from Egypt are fundamentally wrong. And the reasoning that Hamas will stop retaliatory rocket attacks by 'learning' that Isreal carries a 'big stick' is bananas coz the Isrealis are also warning Hezbollah not to broaden the conflict...Isreal must learn that we have lots of 'sticks' too, will be the supposed response.

The Palestinian Authority is calling for a truce via Egypt. Will Hamas buy that?

It's a simple equation: Pull out of the West Bank and stay within the 1967 borders and allow a Palestinian state to form outside of that versus keeping the occupied land, and keeping the Palestinians under severely strict control at a relatively tiny price to their country's security.

I don't think it makes sense to protest against Israeli war
crimes while ignoring indiscriminate rocket and suicide
attacks.
An innocent victim does not need a nationality nor must
they die in 'adequate' numbers before their death becomes
a tragedy.
Ignoring victims of this war because of their nationality is
pure ignorance.
Every death in a war is a tragedy, but most people who
care deeply about a conflict only care about some of
them.
You can't be anti-war and still take sides.
